Obituary of Cecelia Vincent
CECELIA R. VINCENT, 78, of the Wanamassa section of OCEAN TOWNSHIP, died Monday, Feb. 18, at home. Mrs. Vincent was born in the Bronx, N.Y. and had lived in Brooklyn and Long Island before moving to the Wanamassa section of Ocean Township in 1956. Mrs. Vincent was a school crossing guard in Ocean Township for 21 years, retiring in December 2007. Prior to that, she was a customer service representative for Sears, Neptune and Ocean. She was a communicant at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Ocean Township and a member of the woman's club at the church.
She was predeceased by her husband, Donald Vincent, in 2001; and a brother, Robert Walsh. Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Susan Vincent of Farmingdale, Dennis and Nancy Vincent of Jackson, and Kevin and Elizabeth Vincent of Phillipsburg; a daughter, Karen Vincent of Ocean Township; eight grandchildren, Lisa, Nina, Michael, Dennis, Thomas, Terrence, Ryan, and Spencer; a brother, Terrence Walsh of Maryland; and two sisters, Virginia Nattrass and Joan Smith, both of New York.
Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township. Family and friends may gather at 8:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home for the Rite of Committal, followed by her 9:30 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 31 Asbury Rd., Farmingdale. Entombment will follow in Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls.
