Obituary of Rosemarie Colagreco

ROSEMARIE K. COLAGRECO, 76, of MANALAPAN, died Monday, Feb. 18, at home, with her family by her side. Mrs. Colagreco was born in Jersey City and was raised in Ridgefield and had lived in Fairview and Maywood before settling in Manalapan 45 years ago. She was an active parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Freehold. She was an executive assistant to the vice provost for Student Affairs at Rutgers University, New Brunswick. Prior to that, she worked for the Archdiocese of Metuchen. Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Joseph A. Colagreco; a son and his life partner, Joseph P. Colagreco and David J. Knight, of both New York City and Boston; three daughters, Maureen Ryan and her husband Mark of Columbia, Conn., Sharon Colagreco of Jackson, and Susan Wilson of Howell; seven grandchildren, Brian and Bruce Van Velzor, Jason, Alessandra, and Isabelle Colagreco-Knight, and Kevin and Shawn Wilson; and a great-granddaughter, Hannah Van Velzor. Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township. Relatives and friends may gather at 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home for the Rite of Committal, followed by her 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Chapel, McLean Street, Freehold. Interment will follow in Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent.
