Obituary of Anthony Capatasto
ANTHONY CAPATASTO, 78, of HOWELL, died Monday, Feb. 18, at home. Mr. Capatasto was born in Brooklyn and lived there until moving to Howell six years ago. He was a parishioner of St. Veronica Catholic Church, Howell. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and enjoyed Freehold Racetrack. Before his retirement, Tony was a doorman and elevator operator for Building Services Local 32B-J in Manhattan. He was a doorman at Olympic Towers.
Surviving are two brothers, Salvatore of Cliffwood, and George of Brooklyn; a sister, Elizabeth Capatasto of Howell; six nephews; and five nieces.
Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road, Freehold Township. Relatives and friends may gather at 8:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home for the Rite of Committal, followed by his funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. Veronica's Catholic Church, 4215 Route 9 North, Howell.
