Obituary of Edward Corallo
Edward J. Corallo, 74, of Freehold Township and Ft. Lauderdale, FL passed away at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, November 30, 2013. He was born and raised in Brooklyn, moving to Staten Island prior to settling in Freehold Township eight years ago. After serving in the US Navy, Ed was an NYPD Police Officer. He later co-owned and operated Lafata Corallo Plumbing & Heating, Brooklyn. Ed was a member of the Italian American Club and the Mens Club at The Riviera at Freehold where he resided, as well as a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus of St. Robert Bellarmine. His true passion was his family and he will be greatly missed.
Ed was predeceased by his grandson, James Volpe; his parents, Joseph and Rose Corallo; and his sister, Joyce Gambuzza. He is survived by his wife, Josephine Joan Corallo; his daughter, Barbara Alexander and her husband, David, of Howell and his daughter Christine Volpe and her husband, Anthony of Jackson; and his grandchildren, Justin Volpe, Sean Alexander, Christopher Alexander, Jaclyn Volpe and Jessica Volpe.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at 9:00 AM for the procession to St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township for his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass. Entombment to follow in St. Gabriel's Cemetery and Mausoleum, Marlboro.
