Obituary of August Iantosca
August J. Iantosca, Sr., 95, of Freehold Township passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at The Manor, Freehold Township. He was born in Manhattan and had lived in Brooklyn for 76 years. Augie had also lived in Monroe Township prior to settling at Monmouth Crossing, Freehold Township in 2011. After serving in the U.S. Army during World War II, he was a U.S. Customs Inspector at JFK Airport and a Liquidator for the U.S. Government.
Augie was predeceased by his wife, Anne Marie Iantosca in 2003; his parents, Angelo and Josephine Iantosca; his brother, Bernard Iantosca and his sister, Grace Iantosca. He is survived by two sons, Rev. August J. Iantosca of Queens, NY and Joseph R. Iantosca and his wife, Joanne of Manalapan; and four grandchildren, Joseph August Iantosca, MariaGrace Iantosca, Gianna Maria Iantosca and Daniella Maria Iantosca.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, December 15, 2013 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Monday, December 16, 2013 at 9:00 AM for the procession to St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township for his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass. Interment to follow at St. John's Cemetery, Middle Village, Queens, NY.
