Obituary of Ruth Mauser
RUTH MAUSER, 92, of FARMINGDALE, died Tuesday, March 18, at Bartley Healthcare, Jackson. Mrs. Mauser was born in Howell Township and was a life-long resident of the Howell-Farmingdale area. She was a graduate of Freehold High School, Class of 1934. She was an enthusiastic racecar fan and enjoyed Wall Stadium races. Along with her late husband, Albert, she owned and operated Mauser's Sinclair and also Mauser's Fuel Oil, both of Farmingdale, from 1948 to 1968. During that time, she also owned her own School Bus transporting students for the Howell and Freehold School Districts. After her retirement, she worked at Foodtown, Freehold.
She was predeceased her husband, Albert H., in 1968; a son, Ralph, in 1982; and a granddaughter, Tammy Luhrs, in 1993. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, A. William and Gayle Mauser of Bedford, Va.; two daughters and son-in-laws, Priscilla and Ellsworth McClaren of Howell, and Linda and Tom O'Rorke of Howell. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road, Freehold Township. Her funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Adelphia Cemetery, Adelphia, NJ.
