Obituary of Gaetano Castellaneta

Gaetano Castellaneta, 91, of Howell Township passed away at home on January 6, 2014. Gaetano was born in Bitonto, Italy, came to the U.S. in 1950 and settled in Brooklyn. He lived in Brooklyn until moving to Howell Township in 2000. Gaetano was a textile designer working in embroidery design for over forty years in Manhattan. He was a parishioner of St. Veronica's Catholic Church. Gaetano was predeceased by his wife, Nina; two brothers, Frank Castellaneta and Domenico Castellaneta; and a sister, Maria Tatulla. He is survived by his daughter, Antonett Castellaneta of Howell Township; a son, Nicholas Castellaneta and his wife, Maria of Howell Township; two grandsons, David Castellaneta and Brian Castellaneta; and a brother, Vincenzo Castellaneta of Santo Spirito, Italy. A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 & 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 8:00 AM for the procession to the Church of St. Veronica, 4215 Route #9 North, Howell for his 9:00 AM Funeral Mass.
