Obituary of Barbara Morcom
Barbara L. Morcom, 70, of Neptune City passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center, La Plata, Maryland. Barbara was born in Jamaica, NY and was raised in Valley Stream, NY before moving to Neptune City in 1969. She graduated from Wagner University in 1964. Barbara worked as a microbiologist at Bellevue Medical Center, NYC before becoming a stay at home mom. As a member of the Shark River Beach and Yacht Club, she served on the scholarship committee and chaired the annual fluke tournament. Barbara was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the United Fire Company No. 1, Neptune City. Barbara loved to ski, even more so after meeting her husband Terry on the slopes. She had a passion for traveling with Terry, her family, and her friends. She found pleasure in gardening, especially her roses. Barbara was a veracious reader and enjoyed a good book on the beach. It seems that she knew almost everything including to always order dessert first. Most of all her family was her life.
