Obituary of Julia Camarata

Julia Camarata, 95, of Colts Neck passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Julia was born and raised in New York City and had lived in Queens, NY before settling in Colts Neck in 1950. She was a homemaker and had worked as a sales associate for Bambergers, Eatontown. Julia was a volunteer at Atlantic Elementary School and was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Colts Neck where she belonged to the Holy Spirits and the Catholic Daughters of America. She was an active member of the Colts Neck Senior Citizens. As someone who loved to volunteer her time, she was always thoughtful and generous. However, her most important role in life was as a devoted wife and caring mother. Julia was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Camarata in 1980 and her sister, Olga Kaszas in 1984. She is survived by two sons, Bert Camarata and his wife, Corinne of Williston Park, NY and Charles Camarata of Colts Neck; a daughter, Anne Smith and her husband, Kenneth of Freehold Township; two grandchildren, Christopher Camarata and his wife, Kathleen and Lauren Camarata; and three great grandchildren, Liva, Caleigh and Nova. Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, February 7, 2014 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at 8:30 AM on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at the funeral home for the procession to St. Mary's Catholic Church, One Phalanx Road, Colts Neck 07722 for her 9:30 AM Funeral Mass.
