Obituary of Esther DiGregorio
ESTHER DiGREGORIO, 88, of FARMINGDALE, died Friday, April 11, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Esther was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on April 28, 1919. She had lived in Colts Neck, Englishtown, and Madison Township before settling in Farmingdale in 1965. She was a parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, Freehold. Esther was very well known by those in the community who visited her family's farm markets on Rt. 524 and Rt. 9 in Farmingdale. She was a vibrant woman who truly loved people. She adored and had great pride in all of her family and until recently was very active in all of her great-grandchildren's lives. Esther always put her family before herself. She was a very happy and proud woman. Her family will truly miss her. Along with her husband, Giacinto, she owned and operated Twin Pond Farms, Farmingdale until her retirement.
She was predeceased by her husband Giacinto DiGregorio; two brothers, Dominick and Frank Luccarelli; and a sister, Lillian Gentile. Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Angelo and Evelyn DiGregorio of Farmingdale; one daughter and son-in-law, Rose and Henry Becker of Colts Neck; six grandchildren and their spouses, Jacqueline Becker and Scott Schipma of Oakton, Va., Rosemarie and John Kushnir of Colts Neck, Henry Becker of Howell, George and Jennifer DiGregorio of Farmingdale, Gary and Renee DiGregorio of Freehold, and Christopher and Christina DiGregorio of Freehold; seven great-grandchildren, Courtney, Anika, Jenna, Christian, Lindsay, Kyle, and Payton; and one sister, Rose LaViola of New Canaan, Conn.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Clayton & McGirr funeral home. Relatives and friends may gather at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, at the Funeral Home for the Rite of Committal followed by her 11 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold. Interment to follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Neptune.
