Obituary of Howard J. Ketcham

HOWARD J. KETCHAM, 85, of FARMINGDALE, died Thursday, April 17, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Mr. Ketcham was born in Howell and was a 60-year resident of Farmingdale. Mr. Ketcham was a World War II Army veteran, serving in the Philippines and was a recipient of a Purple Heart. He was a member of the American Legion Post 54, Freehold. Mr. Ketcham was an ex-chief and life-member of the Farmingdale Fire Co. and an avid NASCAR fan. He was a truck driver and crane operator for New Jersey Sand & Gravel, Wall for 40 years, retiring in 1988. He also worked part-time for Ed Brown at Allaire Airport, Wall. He was predeceased by a daughter, Linda Susan, in 1973; and a brother, Kenneth. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Louise Ketcham; two sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Joanne Ketcham of Manasquan, and Jim and Cheryl Ketcham of Brick; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Jim Daniels of Farmingdale, and Carol and Dave Burlew of Lakewood; a sister, Janet Ott of Farmingdale; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Visiting hours will be from 3 p.m. Sunday until his funeral service at 7 p.m. at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township.
