Obituary of Josephine Schaaf
Josephine A. Schaaf, 77, of Freehold Township passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, March 20, 2014 after a courageous two year battle with cancer with her loving husband by her side. Josephine was born in Laurenzana, Italy, came to the U.S. in 1965, and had lived in Lyndhurst before moving to Freehold Township in 1980. She was the owner of Josephine's Tailoring, Freehold Township for twenty-five years retiring in 2009. Josephine was a devoted parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, an active member of the Silvermead Community Club and a member of the Rosary Society of Silvermead. She was also a member of the Freehold Township Senior Center.
Josephine is survived by her husband, George S. Schaaf; two sons, Dean F. Schaaf and his wife, Barbara of Beachwood and Carl S. Schaaf and his wife, Randi of Robbinsville; and three grandchildren, Tara, Dana, and Stacey.
Visitation will be held at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, March 24, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at 9:00 AM for the procession to St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township, for her 10:00 AM Funeral Mass. Entombment to follow in St. Gabriel's Cemetery and Chapel Mausoleum, Marlboro.
