Anthony and I met through our sons Nick and Brian. They were the same age and in the same grade. When the two boys were old enough for Little League Anthony and I became the co-coaches of their team. We did this for about 4 or 5 years with mostly bad teams. However,one year we happened to have a very good team and the stakes became higher. Believe it or not Anthony was the calmer of the two of us during the games. I am usually a quiet,calm guy but when it came to sports I became a maniac and was always yelling at the umps. During one game I was thrown out. Anthony always attended the meetings and told me that at the following meeting they wanted to band me from the league. As Anthony always had my back, he told them that if I was out so was he. They backed down and that's where it ended. We remained friends over the years and Anthony was always one of the nicest guys I've ever known and was always willing to offer a helping hand. It was a privilege to be Anthony's friend and I will miss him greatly.
