Obituary of Jose Roldan
Jose Ma. Roldan, MD, 81, of Freehold Township, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, Atlantic City. Jose was born in Iloilo, Philippines and lived in Parsippany before moving to Freehold in 2007. He was a urologist and surgeon in his own practice before retiring in 1994. Jose was a member of the A.M.A., the Philippine American Medical Society and the University of Santo Tomas Medical Alumni Association. He interned at Mother Cabrini Hospital in New York City, completed his residency in Martland Medical Center, practiced medicine in St. Croix, Virgin Islands and in Iloilo, Philippines. From 1970 until 1994, he established a private practice in Kearny and was affiliated with West Hudson Hospital. Jose and his wife shared and enjoyed their time together with family and friends between Freehold and Atlantic City.
Jose is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Editha P. Roldan, MD, whom he adored, loved and cherished; his children, Roy Roldan and his wife Arlene of Freehold, Rex Roldan and his wife Anne of Clayton, Joy Cardace and her husband Louis of Freehold, and Rey Roldan of Weehawken; and nine grandchildren: Alexis, Alyssa, Melina, Nicholas, Joseph, Christopher, Gianna, Aileen and Dominick.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, April 13, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 & 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends may gather at the funeral home on Monday, April 14, 2014 at 9:00 AM for the procession to St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold for his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass. Interment will follow in St. Anne Cemetery, Wall. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Jose may be made to American Diabetes Association, Post Office Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
