Obituary of Rose Verde
Rose Verde, 91, of Freehold Township passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Bartley Health Care, Jackson. Rose was born in Ventotene, Italy, came to the U.S. in 1930 settling in Brooklyn and had lived in Marlboro before moving to Freehold Township. She made artificial flowers for candy boxes in Brooklyn. Rose was a parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, Freehold Township.
Rose was predeceased by her husband, Silvestro J. Verde and a son-in-law, Guy Pontillo. She is survived by two daughters, Louise Pontillo of Delray Beach, FL and Antoinette Plasmati and her husband, John of Freehold Township; three grandchildren, Michael Pontillo and his wife, Annemarie, Jennifer Pischettola and her husband, Vito, Susan Sarcona and her husband, Paul; seven great grandchildren, Nino, Gianna, Gabriella, Matthew, Paul, Christian and Olivia; a brother-in-law, Gabriel Verde and his wife, Anna; a sister-in-law, Antoinette Gemmarco; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, May 15, 2014 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and Friday, May 16, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 & 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends may gather at the funeral home on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 9:00 AM for the procession to St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township for her 10:00 AM Funeral Mass.
