Obituary of Gino Delvescovo
Gino J. Delvescovo, 84, of Howell passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Gino was born in Newark and grew up in Bloomfield prior to settling in Howell. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran having served in the Korean War. He was employed by Two Guys from Harrison for over 25 years, retiring in 1979. Gino most recently worked as a lunchroom custodian at Newbury School in Howell. He was also a parishioner of the Church of St. Veronica and a member of the V.F.W. Post #9691 of Howell.
Gino is survived by his wife, Silvia Delvescovo of Howell; his children, Ginamarie Harris and her husband, Kevin of Pt. Pleasant, George Delvescovo of East Hanover, Marie Valentino and her husband, Brian of Long Branch and Nancie Colucci and her husband, Joseph of Howell; nine grandchildren, Jessica and her husband, James, Charles Gino, Danielle, Antonio Gino, Georgianna, Emma, Joseph, Grace and Christopher; his brother, Orlando DelVescovo of Bloomfield; his sister, Anna Rabito of Scarsdale, NY; his sister-in-law, Audrey DelVescovo of Convent Station; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, May 23, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home at 8:30 AM on Saturday, May 24, 2014 for the procession to his 9:30 AM Funeral Mass at the Church of St. Veronica, 4215 Route 9 North, Howell. Interment to follow at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery, Freehold Township.
