Obituary of Donald Smith

Donald A. Smith, 51 of Howell passed away at home on Monday, June 16, 2014. Donald was born in Plainfield and had lived in Cranford before settling here in 1996. Prior to working as a technician at Hamilton Honda for the past four years, he was employed at Planet Honda in Union. Don was an avid Giants fan, and loved drag racing and antique cars, particularly 1968 GTOs. Surviving are his wife of seventeen years, Patricia Smith; one son, Ryan Fitzgerald of Wilmington, NC; three daughters, Alexis Sonnay, Heather Smith and Kylie Smith, all of Howell; his father, Anthony Smith of Lancaster, PA; his mother, Judy Kupshik of Cranford; two sisters, Kathleen Williams of Cranford and Jennie Smith Riordan of Montclair; two brothers, Anthony "Tony" Smith of Lancaster, PA; and James Smith of Georgia; three grandchildren, Tyler Sonnay, Travis Sonnay and Kaylie Wilson; and three nieces, Hope Williams, Faith Williams and Beatrix Smith; and one nephew, Callum Smith. Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, June 19, 2014 from 4:00 and 7:30 PM with his funeral service to follow at 7:30 PM.
