Obituary of Anna Matthews

Anna Mae Matthews, 91, of Spring Lake Heights passed away on Friday, June 20, 2014 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Anna was born in Farmingdale and had lived in Manasquan before moving to Spring Lake Heights 62 years ago. She was a co-owner of Matthews Farm Market, Spring Lake Heights. Anna was predeceased by her husband, William Matthews in 2007 and a son-in-law, James Rogers in 2008. She is survived by a son, William P. Matthews of Lake Como; a daughter, Kathleen Rogers of Vernon; five grandchildren, Samantha Matthews, Tyler Matthews, Chelsea and her husband, Jaafar Ali, Lindsey Rogers and Kortney Rogers; one great granddaughter, Liyana: and two brothers, Robert Morgan of Farmingdale and Bud Morgan of Florida. Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, June 23, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 11:00 AM funeral service on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold.
