Obituary of Jane Darmody

JANE E. DARMODY, 74, of FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP, died Friday, May 9, at home. She was born in Chicago, Ill. to James and Elinor Winter. Jane was a registered nurse working for 25 years at the Geraldine Thompson Medical Home until her retirement in 2000. She had lived in the Stonehurst section of Freehold Township since 1971 and moved to Applewood Estates in 2005. She was predeceased by her parents; and a grandson, Riley. She leaves her husband of 51 years, William; her sons and their families, Kevin and Denise Darmody of Chesterfield and their sons, Kellen and Brendan; Tim Darmody of Pasadena, Calif. and his sons, Liam and Aden; Chris Darmody of Watertown, Mass. and his children, George and Grace; and James and Julie Darmody of Encino, Calif. and their children, Devin and Finn; and her sister, Judith Luchtan of Kennesaw, Ga. There will be no wake or funeral because she donated her body for scientific research. A Memorial Mass has been scheduled for noon Saturday, June 7 at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township. Donations in her memory may be made to the Residents' Assistance Fund of Applewood Estates, 1 Applewood Drive, Freehold, NJ 07728.
