Obituary of Leslie Pier

Leslie L. Pier, 88, of Sebring Florida formally of Neptune, NJ passed away on Friday, August 1, 2014 at Sunny Hills Assisted Living, Sebring Florida. Leslie was born in Spring Lake and had lived in Neptune before retiring to Jay, Vermont and Sebring, Florida. He was a master carpenter, builder, project manager and owner of Pier Brothers Builders, Neptune until his retirement. Leslie was a U.S. Army veteran serving during WWII and a member of the Ocean Lodge #89 Free and Accepted Masons in Spring Lake. He was an avid skier, golfer and tennis player. Leslie was predeceased by a daughter, Lesley Werner of Pittstown, NJ 8 years ago. He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Audrey Bowne Pier of Sebring Florida; one son, Richard S. Pier and his companion, Elaine Taylor of Howell; three grandchildren, Allyson Simmons, Brian Pier and Eric Pier; and two great grandchildren, Noah and Lyla. Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, August 7, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM with his funeral service to follow at 8:00 PM.
