Condolences
I had Mr. Havens for English and World Lit. classes while at Pt.Pleasant Boro High.As a member of the Class of 1973 - I enjoyed his classes and hope that his family remembers his legacy at P.P.B.H.S.May they be comforted during this time of sorrow, and be able to reflect on all the wonderful memories of him.Take care and God bless!
Curt Havens was a teacher of mine in the early 70's. He was always a pleasure in class, and challenged us to do our best whether in school or in life. I had the opportunity to visit with him several times after I graduated from PPBHS, and I remember the laughs we had together. He seemed to be a devoted husband who always had his wife foremost in his thoughts. We will miss you Curtis!
I was so saddened to hear of Curt's passing, I taught with him at the borough and he was such a wonderful person. I was unable to attend his service but wanted to tell you how sorry I was. In addition to being an incredible teacher he was a person who I enjoyed talking with. He had a wonderful sense of humor and his vast array of knowledge made him a very interesting conversationalist. He was always a very caring man. He will be missed by many.
We send our condolences at this time of your loss, knowing Curt as a great friend for many years. We regret, due to the short notice of his passing , just today ,in the the Asbury Park Press, our inability to attend the services for him! God Bless all! Ray / Cookie Slocum Ethel Slocum , 90 years young , our mother and longtime friend of the Havens family
To the Family and Friends of Mr. Havens; I was a student of Mr. Havens (1976-79) at Point Pleasant Boro High School. He had a huge impact on me and I will never forget the way he encouraged me to continue writing. As a result I have become quite adept at poetry and short story writing. Also, I will never forget how he used to wear ORANGE on St. Patrick's Day! We all got a good laugh. God Speed Mr. Havens, I will never forget you. Sincerely, Kelli (Walsh) O'Neill
I was saddened to hear about Mr. Havens' passing. He was a truly wonderful person and I remember him with fondness. I not only had the pleasure of being in Mr. Havens' classes throughout my high school years, but I also worked with him as the advisor to the Class of '72. He will be missed, but never forgotten!
