Condolences
My memories of Uncle Andy begin with my first vivid introduction. In 1962 at the Blue reunion Uncle Andy came up to me and pushed me toward meeting "your cousin, Amelia" to this time a stranger to me and pushed us together to embrace. I was rather stunned because my family wasn't very huggy. But it was a great intoduction and Amelia had a fun summer and it was a good inroduction to my very deligtful and fun loving and loving uncle.
Plus many other memories. My love to all the Nuccios especially my sweet Aunt Irene. love, martha
Some of my fondest memories of my Uncle Andy include;
Running Lionel trains, playing pool, bowling, watching bowling on TV, playing pinnocle, poker and hearts, doing puzzles;
Really smooth partner dancing with Aunt Irene;
Fine dining;
One short snippet about Uncle Andy:
When I was married to Deen we liked going out to some of the finer restuarants in the area (Fomagerie, Frog and the Peach, LaCipollina, etc). Through the years often when we were at these establishments we would run into uncle Andy and aunt Irene also dinning there. Because we liked to eat late and uncle Andy and aunt Irene liked to eat early, they would inevitably be getting ready to leave or be in the process of leaving when we were just being seated. When this happened (and it happened several times over the years) when we were ready to leave and asked the wait staff for our check they would always say " your check has already been taken care of sir, including the tip, please come again soon" .
Uncle Andy had left his credit card information with the staff and instructions to use it to pay for our dinner including the tip. THAT was uncle Andy, CLASS, NOTHING BUT CLASS!!!!!
Uncle Andy, I appreiciate all the generosity and the love you have shown to me thoughout my life. I treasure all of the time you have spent with me. You have enriched my life. I love you.
(P.S. When we do meet in heaven we will run some Lionel trains, shoot a little pool, bowl a few games, watch championship bowling on TV, play a little poker and pinnocle, finish a big puzzle, and at the end of the day go out to a nice resturaunt for dinner -------- and don't worry about the check, it's all been taken care of.--------- I Love and miss you. Jerry)
