Obituary of Andrew Nuccio
Andrew J. Nuccio, 90, of Howell Township passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Andrew was born in Manhattan and raised in Brooklyn before settling in Howell. He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army Air Corp. Andrew was the owner of JAC Service Company, Howell for over forty years and retired in 1987. He was a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Farmingdale. Andrew was an avid bowler, bowling at the Howell Lanes and then at Ocean Lanes, Brick. In 1996, he was the NJ State Senior's Doubles Champion. Along with his wife, Andrew had a passion for traveling. They drove throughout the United States, cruised everywhere and reached from the Middle East to Central America. They were "World Travelers". In 1970, he got his pilots license and was instrument rated for his Bonanza plane, which allowed him to travel from the East Coast to the Midwest. Andrew also grew Christmas Trees.
Andrew was predeceased by two daughters, Clara Louise Nuccio and Amelia Nuccio; a son, Alan Nuccio; a great grandson, Damien Nuccio; his brother, Jesse Nuccio; and a sister, Amelia Certa. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Irene Nuccio; three children, Andrew Jesse Nuccio and his wife, Jacqueline of Breckenridge, CO, Ann Jeanette Lloyd-Costello and her husband, Bernie of Allenhurst, and Charles A. Nuccio and his wife, Patty of Reno, NV; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Nuccio of Eatontown; eight grandchildren; William Lloyd and his wife, Kelly, Andrew Nuccio II and his wife, Holly, Michelle Furrer and her husband, Richard, Lisa Citron and her husband, Jeff, Joseph Nuccio and his wife, Michelle, Collin (Fox) Nuccio, Cara Nuccio, and Charles Nuccio; thirteen great grandchildren; three sisters, Marion Hein of Tinton Falls, Louise Chehanske of Tinton Falls, and Phyllis Carter of Fresno, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 9:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 31 Asbury Road, Farmingdale, NJ 07727 on Wednesday, October 22, 2014. Interment will follow in St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church.
