Obituary of Amity Clapp
Amity Ruth Clapp, 71, of Tinton Falls passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Amity was born in Brockton, MA and lived in Little Silver and Freehold before settling in Tinton Falls 15 years ago. She was a people person who never forgot a name or face, and had a love for children and animals. Amity enjoyed singing, music and painting. In addition to swimming at the YMCA, she participated in the Girl Scouts and bowled in the ARC of Monmouth County league.
Amity was predeceased by her parents, Richard Clapp and Virginia Clapp. She is survived by two nephews, David Clapp of Pt. Pleasant Beach and Daniel Clapp of Farmingdale; two nieces, Susan Clapp of Brick and Sydney Clapp of LaBelle, FL; her sister-in-law, Karen Clapp of Brick; her guardian, Kathryn Lewinski of Avon; and her extended family at ARC's Virginia Manor in Wayside.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Jerseyville United Methodist Church, 8 Howell Road, Freehold on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Beverly Jones officiating.
