Obituary of Thomas DeSimone

THOMAS P. DeSIMONE, 74, of FREEHOLD, died Monday, July 28, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Mr. DeSimone was born in Carteret, and had lived in Edison and Farmingdale before moving to Freehold four years ago. Mr. DeSimone was a private investigator and owner and president of Metropolitan Investigations Associates Inc., Edison, until his retirement 10 years ago. He was a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Farmingdale. He was a Marine Corps veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the Marine Corps League, Reynolds Detachment, Freehold. Mr. DeSimone was also a member of the Marine Corps Association. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus, Colonia. Mr. DeSimone was an associate member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police. He is pre-deceased by his parents, Peter and Jane Angen DiSimone, and his brother Joseph A. DiSimone. Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Thomas R. and Ida DeSimone of Freehold Township; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Dina L. and Mark Daugherty of Allenwood, and Patrice C. and Alan Bulvanoski of Howell; nine grandchildren, Mark Thomas, Christian, Alexis, Casey, Alan Joseph, Anna, Emily, Allissa and William; and one brother, Carmen DeSimone and his wife, Mary, of Hollywood, Fla. as well as several nieces and nephews. Visiting from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township. Family and friends may gather at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home for the Rite of Committal followed by his 9:30 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 31 Asbury Road, Farmingdale.
