Condolences
Dear Daniel: I remember visiting you & your family a few years ago in Freehold. Your sister, Marianne & her daughter, Gina were there. We had a wonderful visit. As it was getting dark I thought I should get on the road as I don't see well at night. I needed directions back to route 33. Instead of you telling me go left, go right, etc. you got into your car & led me to route 33. Always a gentleman! Just like your Dad & my Dad-who were brothers. I love you, Dan. Cousin Janice

I am deeply saddened by the passing of my Uncle and Godfather. Even though we live in Texas, he never forgot us. Logan and Brooke thought Uncle Dan was the greatest because he always sent them a $5 bill to get ice cream....with a note telling me that I HAD to take them to get it! One of my fondest memories of Uncle Dan was when I was 11 years old and in NJ visiting without my parents. I got to stay with Uncle Dan and Aunt Kate for a few days with my cousin Christopher. Chris and I had a blast running wild, eating junk, staying up late, and just being down right spoiled by Uncle Dan and Aunt Kate. I thought I was in Heaven! Today it comforts me knowing Uncle Dan is up in Heaven, with Christopher, looking down on us. And I will make sure to carry on the tradition of treating them to ice cream on every holiday....in Uncle Dan's honor.
To Kate and the Trucano Family, I'm so saddened by your devastating and shocking loss. I was literally just thinking about Dan about 2 weeks ago. I would like to leave you with my memories of Dan. When we moved to NJ with PXRE, I had the pleasure of sitting next to Dan for at least 6 years. During that time I feel like I really got an insight as to who he was and what he represented. First of all, Dan was a family man and led by example. His family was his LIFE . I recall fondly listening for hours while he was on the phone (we literally sat right next to each other so privacy was not an option) Daily calls about the boys baseball, braces, doctors appts, school. Dan was part of it all, let’s not forget about Jennifer (i.e., the “baby”) as he fondly called her and of course, the famous Aunt Mary that he cared for so much. Dan was so hands on that I would sit there on occasion and say to myself, “why isn’t anyone helping me as much as this devoted father is helping his family.” Not to mention every weekend, he couldn’t wait to get home for a family event at either his house or running out to LI to spend time with family and friends. During football season I would come in on Monday mornings to either a grumpy or happy Dan, depending on how the Jets performed the day before and then hours of discussion about the coaching staff/players. This is just a little tidbit of what I witnessed. Dan, you were really one of the good guys. I look at these pictures of your beautiful family and it warms my heart to know that all your hard work really came to fruition. I will never forget you.
The Texas branch of the family is deeply saddened by the passing of a very good man. Dan was a loving brother and his sister Geralyn is devastated by the loss of her beloved brother. Dan was a fantastic uncle and great uncle and never forgot to remember birthdays and holidays. Our children, Douglas and Valerie and our grandchildren Logan, Nathan, Ashleigh and Brooke will really miss the thoughtfulness of this kind man. Our heartfelt condolences to his beautiful family which are a true tribute to Dan. Rest in Peace dear Brother-in-law .
I am so sorry for your Loss, Dan. We have to believe that he is in a better place, not suffering and out of pain. It is hard to understand why a liove one has been taken from us but in my heart I believe they are looking down smiling and we can feel their presence everyday. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
