Condolences
Almost 4 years, I think of you constantly cuz. Miss you!
Hank McGirr was part of my extended family. His Mom and Betty Schaffer were sisters, and the Schaffer girls, and McGirr's were more siblings than cousins. The Schaffer girls are my family. Hank and I would ride the bus many times, as he attended the brother school "Power Memorial" for the sister school "St. Michael's" which I attended. Hank never realized how handsome and funny he was. Barbara and Maureen were dear friends to me. His death is a tragedy and very sad. My prayers are for the McGirr's and Carol/Diane/Patty and Beth as I know that they are all in pain. I love all of you xo
An absolute gentleman. I send my sincere condolences to the McGirr family. I had the privilege to work with Henry "Hank" at Brooks Brothers about 10 years ago. I will always remember his smile and laughter, and the ease with which he could make you smile and laugh with him. I am thankful that our paths had crossed and I will always remember you. Prayers to your family and to your "Brooks" family.
Henry was the lightness, fun and laughter for all of us at Brooks Brothers. He was the Mayor, the Ambassador of Brooks Brothers. Everyone loved Henry. We all loved working, sharing stories and having fun with Henry. We will miss him dearly. My sincere condolences to Diane, Kelly and Michael and the McGirr Family.
Diane & Mike, my sincere condolences on your loss. My prayers are for God's comfort and strength to sustain you.
Henry was "My Man" at Brooks Brothers in the Grove for at least 15 years. He was THE most professional, but also THE most human person I ever dealt with. Henry always wanted to "make it right, so that the customer is completely satisfied", and he would do anything to be certain that happened. In addition, he had a wonderful smile and sense of humor. I will miss Henry, so much. My most sincere condolences go to his wife, children and family. Bill Van Winkle
My first memories of Hank and Diane are from age 15 when they were first dating. Colleen and I use to spy on them late at night, and bang on the car windows when they were making out...I can still hear them yelling at us …but of course laughing as well! Those times with Hank and the ones that followed at the many “Kennedy” family get-togethers over the last 35 years will never fade. That awesome smile and ability to make everyone laugh and have a good time was Hank’s gift to all that crossed his path! His passing is truly a lose for all of us who knew him however; his beautiful spirit will live on! My deepest condolences to Diane, Kelly, Michael and all of Hank’s loved ones. I share in your sorrow and pray that you find some peace in knowing how much Hank was loved and cherished by all that knew him.
My heart felt sympathy to Hank's wife, children and the McGirr family. Hank was truly one of a kind. We spent countless hours hanging out as kids and every one of those was spent usually laughing. He was the most witty person I've ever met. I will always smile when thinking of him. He was the salt of the earth. It was an absolute pleasure knowing him.
Dear Diane, Kelly and Michael, It was my pleasure to have worked with Henry/Hank at Brooks Brother as part of ordinal opening team! Henry always brought levity to any situation ... You will be surely missed by all. God bless!
Our deepest condolences to my sister Diane and Hanks family. Words can not express the sorrow and heartbreaks when a loved one is taken from us at such a young age..His presence at our family events will truly be missed but will always be with us in spirit.. You were loved by us both as a friend and a brother... RIP Hank!!
My heartfelt sympathy to all the McGirr's on the passing of Henry. I remember running into Henry in the NY neighborhood as he came out of his building and I was visiting his Aunt Edie(Mary)back in the Debbie and Duggie days. He always had a smile on his face as we stood there sharing our family updates. You will be in my thoughts and prayers during this time.
Maureen and family I didn't get to meet your brother ,Hank, but he must have been a wonderful man if he was anything like his siblings. We send our condolences to his family. Linda and Pete Smeding.

My deepest sympathy to Diane, her children and all Hanks wonderful family and friends! I know your pain and I know your feeling of helplessness but I can tell you God will carry you through and the love of your family and friends will strengthen you. There is no right way or wrong way to grieve and live but know that so many love you, so many are here for you and please don't be afraid to lean on them for as long as you want to or need to. We'll talk later. We'll cry later and I will pray for the strength to help you any way I can! Cherish your memories and let them fill your heart! I love you Sweet Lady!
We were customers of Henry's at Brooks for more than 15 years. He enhanced the Brooks experience with his personality and willingness to "get it right". Henry became a friend. We shared personal stories, asked each other about our families, and had a rapport that is rare in retail these days. We are very saddened by the news of Henry's passing. Today is a really bad day. We will miss his wry smile and his little touch of mischief. Goodbye, friend. We will miss you.
