Obituary of Seth Harter

Seth William Harter, 84, of Ocean Isle Beach, NC and Jackson, NJ passed away surrounded by his family at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township on Monday, September 14, 2015. Seth was born in Springfield, Ohio and raised in Cumberland, MD. Upon graduating from the University of Maryland, he enlisted in the US Air Force and served his country as a 1st Lieutenant from 1955 to 1958. Seth settled in Holmdel for thirty-five years before moving to Jackson for the past fifteen years. He was the owner of Harter Equipment Inc., Millstone, for over forty years. Seth was a past member of the Board of Directors of the YMCA Western Monmouth County and past president of the NJAED. He was a private pilot and flew his own plane for ten years. Seth enjoyed golf, tennis, skiing, fishing and laughing with his Monday night poker group. He loved to travel with friends and family, especially cross country in his RV. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Judy Harter; three daughters, Susan Harter of Manalapan, Linn Harter and her husband, Doug Davis of Bozeman, MT, and Mary Harter of Bozeman, MT; and his granddaughter, Marysol Harter. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Westlake Golf and Country Club, 1 Pine Lake Circle, Jackson.
