Obituary of Vincent DeGulis
Vincent P. DeGulis, 68, of Freehold Township. died Wednesday, Sept. 3, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Mr. DeGulis was born and raised in Jersey City and had lived in Union City and Marlboro before settling in Freehold Township in 1982. He was a graduate of Snyder High School, Jersey City; La Salle University, Philadelphia, Pa., and the F.B.I. Academy, Quantico, Va. He was a member of the FBINA and the NRA. Mr. DeGulis was also a member of the Superior Officer's Association. He was an active parishioner at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, Freehold Township, and lead usher at the 10 a.m. Mass. Mr. DeGulis was a founding member and retired captain of the Manalapan Township Police Dept. with 27 years of service, retiring in 1995. He was a long-time firearms instructor at the Monmouth County Police Academy. Prior to this, he was a member of the Marlboro Police Department.
He was predeceased by his parents, Anthony F. Sr. and Mildred Grace DeGulis. Surviving are his wife, Marie DeGulis; a son,Vincent DeGulis of Freehold Township.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Michele and Nick Cucci of Harrington Park, and Christina Marie DeGulis of Freehold Township; a granddaughter, Sophia Cucci; a brother, Anthony DeGulis Jr. of Marlboro; a sister, Carol Rose of Carney's Point; his stepmother, Maureen DeGulis of Marlboro; and many loved family and friends.
Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township. Relatives and friends may gather at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home for the Rite of Committal, followed by his 11 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township. Interment to follow in St. Gabriel's Cemetery, Marlboro. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Vincent's memory may be made to St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church Building Fund, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township, NJ 07728, and would be appreciated.
