F. Pierre VanderVegt
I know this is way after the funeral, but this is the first time I've seen the obituary. When I was growing up in Hawthorne, we had three dogs - Vizslas. I was 9 y.o. when my family took a vacation to the Netherlands for three weeks and Guy's parents house sat one of the males (Zoltan). When we returned, Guy had bonded with Zoltan and Mrs. Weston asked my parents if it would be possible to keep him. Zoltan and our other male both had alpha personalities and fought often, so this actually solved a problem for my parents. When my mom explained to me why we were giving up Zoltan she told me part of Guy's Vietnam story and why Zoltan would be good for him. I went several times to visit Guy and Zoltan, playing whiffle ball and catch in the yard. Guy was a hero in my eyes and I am honored to have known him. Thank you, Guy. I salute you and offer my sympathies to your family.
