Obituary of Noreen Hennessy
Noreen Hennessy, 55, of Howell, died Saturday, Oct. 11 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick. Ms. Hennessy was born in Newark and moved to Howell 25 years ago from Union. She was a social worker for the Child Study Team for the Freehold Township Board of Education for 15 years. She was an active parishioner of St. William the Abbot Catholic Church, Howell. She was a graduate of Georgian Court University, and received her Master's Degree in child psychology from Monmouth University.
She is survived by her ex-husband, William Hennessy, of New York City; a son, William "Bill" Hennessy of Howell; a daughter, Jessica Hennessy of Howell; three brothers, Thomas P. Smyth and his wife, Clare, of Neptune, Martin J. Smyth and his wife, Eileen, of Flemington, and John L. Smyth and his wife, Karen, of Englishtown.
Visiting will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Twp. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at 8:45 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home for the Rite of Committal, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at St. William the Abbot Catholic Church, 2740 Lakewood Allenwood Road, Howell. Interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation, 5005 LBJ Freeway, Suite 2501, Dallas, TX 75244.
