Obituary of Charles Rieg

Charles Rieg, 68, of Freehold Township passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was born and raised in Baltimore, MD and had lived in both North Bergen and Mount Laurel before settling in Freehold Township in 1988. Charlie was owner and operator of Architectural Material Solutions, New York City (formerly named Charles Rieg Associates), where he worked with some of the world's top design firms and builders on many high profile projects. He was a member of Ceilings & Interior Systems Construction Association and Construction Specifications Institute. Co-owned the racehorse, Gold Pursue, Charlie cheered him on during races held at the Meadowlands. Charlie enjoyed traveling and family vacations. He was an avid golfer, a fan of the New York Giants, and enjoyed visits to Atlantic City. Charlie also enjoyed spending his days working in the yard and relaxing by the pool. He was predeceased by his parents, Edwin and Ida Rieg; a brother-in-law, Rich Hull; and father-in-law, Stanley "Duke" Klovensky. Charles is survived by his wife of 37 years, Karen Rieg; their children, Jason Rieg and his fiancée, Anne Surick of Belmar and Joanna Rieg and her boyfriend, Keith Delligatti of Brick; siblings, Dan Rieg and his wife, Pat of FL, Edwinna Perdew and her husband, Tim of CA, Norb Rieg and his wife, Jean of MD, Bernie Rieg and his wife, Linda of FL, Maryetta Grabowski and her husband, Bob of VA, and Sharon Hull of MD; mother-in-law, Bernadine Klovensky of Baltimore, MD; sisters-in-law, Janice Castle and her husband, Dave of MD, and Ellen Baker and her husband, Cliff of MD; many nieces and nephews, and his faithful canine companion, Blake. A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524) Freehold Township on Saturday, March 26, 2016 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Monday, March 28, 2016 at 9:00 AM for procession to his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township. Entombment will follow in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery, Freehold Township.
