Obituary of John Morgan

John P. "Jay" Morgan, 53, of Farmingdale passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, March 27, 2016. Born in Neptune, Jay was a life-long resident of Farmingdale. He worked as a trouble shooter for PSE&G Central Division, East Brunswick for 33 years until his retirement this year. Jay was currently the Mayor of Farmingdale serving since 2004, having originally joined the Council in 1992. Jay was a life member and exempt member of the Farmingdale Fire Department. He was also a member of the Farmingdale/Howell Lion's Club and the Manasquan River Sewage Authority, as well as Treasurer and Vice President of Evergreen Cemetery, and member of the Republican Club. In his free time, Jay enjoyed playing golf. He was predeceased by his mother, Eileen M. Morgan and brother, Robert "Abe" Morgan Jr. Jay is survived by his children, Amanda Facciponte and her fiancé, Brian Muller of Jackson and Joseph Rodriquez of Howell; a grandson, Brendan Muller; his father, Robert Morgan, Sr. of Farmingdale; siblings, Mike Morgan and his wife, Rose of Howell, Cindy Jennings of Howell, and Karen Morgan of Howell; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and dear friends. Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524) Freehold Township on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 and Thursday, March 31, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 11:30 AM funeral service on Friday, April 1, 2016 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Farmingdale.
