Obituary of Paul Duffy
Paul V. Duffy, Sr., 83, of Mt. Holly passed away with his family by his side on Monday, April 11, 2016 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. He was born in Elizabeth and lived there until settling in Mt. Laurel in 1986. He worked for Conrail for over 40 years as the East Coast safety manager. Paul was a former parishioner and Eucharistic minister at Our Lady Queen of Peace in Hainesport and a member of IBEW. Paul was a lifelong Pop Warner coach and PAL football, wrestling and baseball coach. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he was the perfect role model for his four sons. Paul will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was predeceased by his parents, James Duffy, Sr. and Marion Duffy; two brothers, James Duffy, Jr. and Jack Duffy; and his sister, Elizabeth Brady. Paul is survived by his wife of 58 years, Hedwig M. Duffy; sons, Paul V. Duffy, Jr. and his wife, Beth of Cream Ridge, Patrick Duffy and his wife, Angela of Wall, Michael Duffy and his wife, CarolAnn of Freehold Township and Timothy Duffy and his wife, Lorraine of Williamstown; and nine grandchildren, Timothy Michael, Georgia, Julia, Alyssa, Hanna, Joseph, Lyla, Jack, and Chance.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, April 14, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:00 AM funeral service at the funeral home on Friday, April 15, 2016. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, East Brunswick.
