Although I do not specifically remember the Berkoben family, I grew up in Howell and remember a story about going to the farm. When I was a child, probably around 1947 or 1948, my cousins were visiting from the city. They decided to take us to the Berkoben farm for a visit. My younger cousin and I were very excited, because we were told that we were going to see a cow. When Mr. Berkoben opened the barn door, the cow was right there and let out a loud "moo". My cousin and I were so surprised, we simultaneously jumped into my uncle's arms crying. All he could do was laugh. My family recounted that story for years. Please accept my sincere sympathy at the death of Edward Berkoben. Kind regards, Anthony Cipriano Freehold, NJ
