Obituary of Edward Berkoben
Edward W. Berkoben, 88, of Howell, died on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009 at Leisure Chateau Care Center, Lakewood. He was born in Jersey City and was a life long resident of Howell. Mr. Berkoben was a farmer his whole life, working on the family farm known as Oak Tree Farm in Howell. He was a United States Navy Veteran, serving during World War II.
Mr. Berkoben was predeceased by three sisters, Anna L. Berkoben, Minnie K. Rowland and Martha E. Whalen, and also by one brother, John F. Berkoben. He is survived by two nephews, William Whalen of Farmingdale and John Berkoben of Arlington, Mass.; one niece, Ruth Bennett of Freehold Twp.; and many grand and great grand nieces and nephews.
Visiting at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Rd. (Route 524), Freehold Township from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009 with his Funeral Service to follow at 12 p.m. Interment will follow at Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls.
