Condolences
I remember like it was yesterday when Barbara, me and Claire would try on clothes in your basement bedroom in Ozone Park, listen to music and laugh and laugh. I so wanted to go to St. Michaels with you guys I would take the train at 3 pm and meet you and ride home together. Pinebush, the summer I grew up. We would drive around town and look for "pedidle pars" (cars with one light out) I will remember Barbara and those days always.
There are few, if any, words that can ease the pain of such loss - particularly of someone so loved by her family and friends. So I hope that it brings you all some solace or comfort to know how she was thought of by others. For me, she was warm and kind. She was a steady, reliable presence for us neighborhood kids, imparting a calm-assertive authority that left us feeling like someone was watching over us. She would open her home (and that fabulous pool) to everyone, and would offer to bring us to the beach. If you saw her while she was working, she always made time for a quick wink and a quiet hello. Oh, and she could work a jump rope at the bus stop with the best of them. Our street, and thus, my childhood, was better for having her in it. My condolences to you all. I hope you find comfort in each other and in the sweet memories of your time spent with her.
Dear Keri and family. My deepest sympathy for your loss. My prayers are with you and your family.
Dear Paul, Paul, Jessica, Kirsten, Ray, Zachary, Tyler, Kerry, Jason and Emma, I am so sorry for your loss. Barbara will be greatly missed by so many, but her warmth, kindness and gentle spirit will be remembered forever. Prayers of strength. With love, Caron and Bruce Keane and family
