Condolences
Fama Family, Please accept our deepest & sincere condolence on the loss of your Mother/Wife/Grandmother. Betty was without a doubt the most giving and caring person that we have ever had the pleasure of meeting in our life. We have known Betty as a neighbor and as a friend for over 40 years. We often remember our first day moving into our new home in Manalapan some 37 years ago, Betty sent over a tray of Lasagna because she knew we would be hungry at the end of that day. She will be sorely missed by us and we will always remember her in our prayers.
Dear Fama Family, I was deeply sadden to learn of Betty's passing. We all have many great memories of growing up in the Knolls and of Betty's kindness to all. She always had time for a kind word. I can vividly remember walking past to go to either the Wexlers or the Amabiles and Betty was out front with Ginger....I was afraid of dogs larger than my small mutt and had walked into the street to leave a big gap between me & the dog. Betty called me over & because we all knew her to be so kind I trusted her when she said it was o.k. Through her reassurance I came to look forward to going past & throwing the ball for Ginger...it's a small thing but such an example of how giving she was. I don't know what she had been doing that day but the fact that she took the time to make me feel safe always stayed with me....what a kind lady...she will be missed by many! Doreen Blair Erndl
Dear Fama Family, I am so deeply saddened over the loss of one of the most wonderful women I have ever met. Betty was a much beloved friend of my mother and an important presence in our lives. We all moved to Manalapan and Lamb Lane together from Bayonne in 1972, when I was four years old. I don't have a single memory of the block that doesn't include Betty. I have fond memories of playing in the Fama's backyard and Betty's gentle presence. I will always think of Betty in the front yard either gardening or playing ball with Ginger, or any one of the dogs. I always looked forward to the yearly Christmas card and those beautiful, warm smiles in all of the pictures. Betty had a knack for making everything special. She will be missed. Dear Fama Family, I was deeply and profoundly saddened to hear of the loss of your mother, Betty; or AUNT Betty as I have always known her. Never a birthday would go by for myself or my two brothers that Betty wouldn't send Little Mike over with a Carvel cake in hand and well wishes from the family. I will NEVER forget her thoughtfulness, her kindness and her warmth. She was my Mother's "Gardening Partner", and a special secret crusader for my younger brother's heart issues. I can only wish that one day everyone would be blessed enough and lucky enough to meet someone like Betty once in their lifetime. Our thoughts and prayers go out to your family at this time. Dear Mickey, Kim, Lisa, Michael and families, I'll always remember Betty's smiling face. She welcomed all of us children from the Knolls into her home and watched over us. I have fond memories of playing in your yard, swimming in your pool and sleeping over your house, all because Betty always made it such a welcoming, happy place. I remember her cheering us on at the soccer field and making us feel special. I hadn't seen Betty in many years but if I did, it would have been like time had never passed. I am so sorry for your loss. I know Betty will always be in your hearts. I will never forget her.
"What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch. We may not understand why she left this earth so soon, or why she left before we were ready to say goodbye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that she died, but that she LIVED, and that her life gave us memories too beautiful to forget." To the Kuchar, Tomkovich and Fama Families ~ know that all of you are in our family's thoughts and prayers through this most difficult time. Love the Potochar Family ~ Donna, Wayne, Kyle and Amy
