To Rob, John, and Libby and your families, I was saddened to hear of Herb's passing. I liked him very much, he was more of an inspiration to me than I think any of you knew. I looked forward to his visit to the store every year, more than any other customer. He always had an insight that was right on target. I didn't feel like I had made the grade until I had his approval. I enjoyed his quiet way of making his point, it is a quality I try to adapt myself. I liked his practical approach to problems, and I appreciated it when, as we discussed work , I mentioned stamina as a major factor, in the success of a holiday or spring season, that he understood and agreed. I related to him in many ways, as our professional paths were so similar. It was an interesting thread of coincidence, that Herb knew my father in law's college roommate, Don Lacy through their affiliation with Rutger's University. I will miss him at the beach, sitting in his chair, and at the end of the season dock removals. I am thankful that you and he have touched my life and I wish you all well. Sincerely, Bob Stewart
