Condolences
As construction ended at SNS and Operations began, our Site Manager said Pete was one of three people "We can't let get away." Pete and I supported each other for nine years doing whatever was necessary to keep the project rolling. Even if a task wasn't fun, Pete found a way to make it enjoyable with his patented smile and laugh.
It is hard to believe that it has been a year since Pete's passing. He is sorely missed by many co-workers and friends. I pray that God will give you comfort and peace during this sad time.
Dear Peter We have known each other since we were children, and to lose you this way is devastating to everyone. You have always been a gentle, sincere and intelligent person and you will be greatly missed. When you get to the Gates of Heaven and your family is there to greet you. You'll be at peace. For those that have done you Harm will have to atone for their deeds. Their time will come. Love cousin
Dear Peter, your love for the peoples and our love for you will never die.You are now in safe place, safer then Knoxville Tennessee. I hope , your friends will contact me, so we can write the letter to the Governor of Tennessee and tell him about your great service to this Country. Remember?, "People are no good, only God is good", Time dos not exist","Go Toni!". Please kip on smiling, Love, Jacek, Krysia, and your best friend Maximilian (12) Mizerski, CZBJO
to all those who have left messages on this site and on the legacy site powered by the knoxville newspaper, i don't even know how to begin to thank you. pete's sister nadja, my mother just recently at he age of 63 got a cell phone. she doesn't have a computer but i will certainly share the messages with her and she will be overwelmed with gratitude. i am trying so hard to focus on the way he was before this tradegy.
my dear uncle bought a new suit for my wedding day, drove up from knoxville in his reliable red saab. he was equipped with his faithful digital canon. i don't recall what song we danced to in that picture, but i remember how happy he was and and that made me so happy in return.
I was blessed to work with Pete on a daily basis for 8 years. We always met and parted with smiling faces. Even if a job had gone sour, Pete would see it as an opportunity to learn and enjoy then move on to another job with enthusiasm, ready to help someone else -his energy seemed contagious. Greg Irby
My wife and I worked with Pete for several years on the SNS Project and in our relations with him, we found him to be a kind soul and a very supportive friend. He was always willing to lend an ear, and listen attentively to any problem that you would present to him. If you needed a favor from Pete, he would respond without hesitation to help you. We consider Pete, a true friend and are saddened by his untimely passing. We will surely miss him!
I was very fortunate to have known and worked with Pete at ORNL. I will sorely miss Pete, as will his friends and colleagues. I hope that the cherished memories of his life will bring comfort to his family and friends. My heartfelt condolences to his family.
I WORKED WITH PETE AT OAK RIDGE AND WAS SADDENED TO HEAR OF HIS PASSING. HE WAS ALWAYS A JOY TO WORK WITH AND GOOD FOR A LAUGH. I HOPE PETE IS AT PEACE NOW. MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL AND KEEP YOU STRONG.
I was so shocked and saddened to hear about Mr. Biljak. I went to church with him for a brief time and he was always so nice. He donated funds several times to the homeless organization that I was in charge of at the church. He asked each time I saw him if there were any needs for the folks in the program that weren't being taken care of. He was a kind, caring and gentle man. I drive by his home everyday to and from work and often he would be checking his mail and give me a friendly wave. Now it breaks my heart to drive by there. It is obvious he has a family that loved him very much and I am so sorry for your loss. You are all in my prayers.
We were fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with Pete at CNMS. He was always kind and cheerful. He will be missed.
Robert and I worked with Pete at TVA for several years. Pete was a really nice guy, always laughing and joking. The group picture that I shared is during a dinner party with several of the people who worked in the heat cycle group at that time. Pete will be missed.
I worked for Pete when I first started at TVA in 1978 and I worked with him many years at ORNL. He was such a help to me as I acclimated into a new town and a new job at TVA. He was a wonderful person who was always in a good mood. He would do anything for you from changing brakes to providing fire wood. It is a sad loss and I will miss him.
To Pete's Family - I had the great opportunity of working with Pete at both TVA and ORNL. Pete has a character that was hard to forget. He was always good for a laugh even in stressful times. I will really miss him. You will be in my prayers and I hope you can focus on all the many good things about Pete. Billy Davis Knoxville, TN
I worked with Pete at TVA years ago. I remember Pete as a kind, intelligent guy who laughed easily and enjoyed life. Sadly, I lost touch with him since and am sorrowed by his passing. You are in my prayers...
I met Pete 25 years ago here in Knoxville. Pete was a sweet, generous and loving guy and a wonderful friend. Pete was a good friend and I am so sorry his life ended so tragically. He didn't deserve to die that way. I am heartbroken that he is gone and I will miss his phone calls when we talked for hours, exchanged recipes and stories about hppenings in our lives. I miss you and only am comforted by the knowledge that you are in God's arms where nothing more can happen to you except for Heavenly Peace. God rest your soul and maybe someday we will meet again. All my love, Mary Ann
To Pete's family - I knew Pete as a kind, gentle and helpful friend and respected him as a great engineer at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, as did everyone who knew him. Please accept my sympathy. I'm sure he will be greatly missed. May God's peace flow down to you.
