Obituary of Peter Biljak
Peter G. Biljak, 61, of Knoxville died tragically at home on Saturday, June 23, 2012. Pete was born in Austria, came to the U.S. in 1951 settling in Paterson, NJ and had lived in Freehold, NJ before moving to Knoxville in the early 1970's. He was a 1968 graduate of Southern Freehold Regional High School, Howell, NJ. Pete graduated in 1972 from the University of Tennessee where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. Through the years, Pete worked for Westinghouse Electric, Tennessee Valley Authority and more recently Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Pete also worked as a private consultant for many years. He loved to watch NASCAR, enjoyed cooking and tinkering on an assortment of projects around his home. Pete was a very kind, generous soul with a hearty laugh. He will be missed immensely by the loved ones he leaves behind.
Pete is predeceased by his parents Gregory and Olga Biljak. He is survived by his sister, Nadja Yurkovic of Freehold, NJ; his brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Nanette Biljak of East Stroudsburg PA; a nephew, Brian Biljak of East Stroudsburg, PA; two nieces, Jessica Noble and her husband, David of Wrightstown, NJ and Sandy Uphold and her husband, David of Jackson, NJ; a great nephew, Ryan Uphold; and two great nieces, Kenna Noble and Kristin Uphold.
Relatives and friends may gather at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township, NJ on Sunday, July 15, 2012 from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM followed by his memorial service at 2:00 PM.
