To the children and grandchildren and great grandchildren of Gaetana: I have fond memories of her. As a teenager/young woman, I can recall many times being at her home on DeWitt Avenue in Belleville, while "romping" with Josephine. Somehow, whenever she knew I'd be there a plate of chicken cutlets were always on the counter, and she would say, eata, eata, while Marco, before his death, would insist I have a glass of wine. But the message I really want to convey is the connection I felt with her, somehow despite the language barrier, we connected. If it were a family function or simply being at her home, she would take my face her hands and say Jeana, Jeana, Jeana. I felt the bond and I know she did too. As I read her obituary I couldn't help but think, how much as a family, you have to celebrate her life, and how fortunate she was to have her family rally at her side as she passed.
