Obituary of Gaetana DeBenedetto

Gaetana DeBenedetto, 97, of Jackson, passed away at Bartley Healthcare, Jackson, on Wednesday, December 30, 2009. She was born in Avellino, Italy, came to the U.S. in 1957 and settled in New York City. She had lived in Newark, Belleville, Manalapan and Freehold before moving to Jackson. Mrs. DeBenedetto was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, Marco, in 1984; a son, Edio, in 1942; 2 brothers and 1 sister. Mrs. DeBenedetto is survived by a son, Dal DeBenedetto, of Freehold; 7 daughters, Carmela Sarno of Bedford, England, Rose Sole of Mossele, France, Bianca Esposito of Toms River, Margaret Melia of Barnegat; Mary Johns, of Nutley, Gilda McCaffrey of Monroe and Josephine Pribush of Scotch Plains; 27 Grandchildren; 45 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandchild and a sister, Nicolina of Italy. Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road, Freehold Twp. on Sunday, January 3rd from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. Relatives and friends may gather at 8:00 AM on Monday, January 4th,at the funeral home for the Rite of Committal followed by her 9:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Twp. The entombment will follow in Hollywood Memorial Park Mausoleum, 1500 Stuyvesant Avenue, Union, NJ.
