Obituary of Arthur Reinhard
Arthur J. Reinhard, 85, of Freehold, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010, at Community Medical Center, Toms River. He was born in Irvington and had lived in Union, Middletown and Freehold for the past 20 years. He received several Associate Degrees from Brookdale Community College, Lincroft. Mr. Reinhard was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Freehold. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during World War II on the U.S.S. Allen. He was a member of the Tin Can Sailor's Association, the Telephone Pioneers of America and the Knights of Columbus, Union Council 4504, Union. Mr. Reinhard was a Central Office Manager for New Jersey Bell/Bell Atlantic in Union, Essex and Morris Counties, retiring in 1984 with over 40 years of service.
He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret M., in January 2009; and a grandson, Eric Reinhard, in November 2004. He is survived by two sons and their wives, Thomas F. and Susan Reinhard of Princeton Junction, and A. Dennis and Michele Reinhard of Cranford; one daughter and her husband, Teresa A. and Arthur Wankmuller of Fair Haven; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visiting will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7 at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road, Freehold Township. Relatives and friends may gather at 9 a.m. Friday, Jan. 8 at the funeral home for the Rite of Committal, followed by his 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 16 McLean St., Freehold. The interment will follow in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery, Freehold. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Arthur may be made to the Eric Reinhard Memorial Scholarship Fund.
