Obituary of Otto Bismarck
Otto "Opa" B. Bismarck, 68, of Farmingdale passed away on Monday, May 3, 2010 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Mr. Bismarck was born in Jersey City, raised in Weehawken and had lived in Germany before returning to the United States, moving to Oakhurst before settling to Farmingdale in 1971. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in Germany during The Vietnam War. Otto retired as a mechanic from Shrewsbury Motors, Shrewsbury after 37 years. In retirement, he also worked at Fort Monmouth.
Otto is survived by his wife, Anneliese Bismarck of Farmingdale; one daughter, Claudia and her husband, Joseph Millar of Pitman, NJ; two sons: Robert Bismarck and his wife, Shannon of Clayton, NY, and Thomas Bismarck and his wife, Jennifer of Toms River; seven grandchildren: Kacy, Rachel, Jaclyn, Hunter Grace, Owen, Cody and Brody; three brothers: Horst Bismarck of Mineral Springs, VA, Wilhelm Bismarck of Freehold Township and Frederick Bismarck of Daytona Beach, FL.; and one sister, Ilse Lafferty of Ashville, NC.
Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524) Freehold Township on Thursday, May 6, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at the funeral home on Friday, May 7, 2010 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Farmingdale.
