Obituary of Valentine Schumakoff

Valentine "Val" Schumakoff, 51 of Millstone Township passed away on August 21, 2010 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Twp.. Val was born in Birmingham, England came to the U.S. in 1967 settling in Howell Township. He lived in Union and Hillsborough before moving to Millstone Township in 2007. Val was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving for eight years. He received his bachelor's degree from NJIT in Engineering. Val was a product manager for the Harris Corp. (formerly Lucent and AT&T), Bridgewater, prior to that he worked at Bell Laboratory's, Murray Hill. Val was a parishioner, assistant church warden, and treasurer at St. Alexander Nevsky R.O. Cathedral, Howell Township. He was also a member of the St. George's Pathfinders of America, Russian Scouts. Val was predeceased by his parents, Johann and Olga Schumakoff. His is survived by his wife, Suzanne and his two daughters, Elena and Joanna. Pannyhida will be held at St. Alexander Nevsky Russian Orthodox Cathedral, 200 Alexander Avenue, Howell Township, on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at 8:00 PM, on Sunday, August 22, 2010 at the conclusion of the 9:30 AM Divine Liturgy, and on Monday, August 23, 2010 at 7:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:00 AM funeral service on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at the Cathedral. Interment will follow in St. Vladimir's Russian Orthodox Cemetery, Jackson.
