Condolences
Memories of our fellow Coast Guard Auxiliarist, Flotilla member, Pirate, and shipmate, John Molnar:
the infamous "Molnar Award", a very damaged propeller (from a grounding), donating by John to the flotilla, mounted and turned into award given out at flotilla meetings, to the flotilla member who committed some kind of goof while underway (I "won" it twice), nameplates were made and affixed to the award, all in jest, with a telling of the "sea story", John as the first recipient always joined in the lampooning;
building a potato gun out of plumbing supplies, no one thought he would really do it, let alone showing up with potatos, and testing it - it really worked!
going on patrols with John, he kept the morale up with his humor, and had a unique way of looking at things, a very competent and steady crewman - it was always a pleasure to have him aboard;
John always enjoyed our annual Pirates Ball and dressed the part;
his out -of-this-world sausage and peppers at our Flotilla picnics;
he was one of the "Class of 98" pirates we recruited from my first Public Education class;
John was a warm and generous person, he had a way of telling it like it is, always willing to give a hand - we will miss him.
Our prayers are with his family,
Tom & Dee Egizi

My favorite memories of John were at our regular poker nights. The nights were always filled with continuous laughter. John's winning hands were rarely good enough - if he had four kings, one of us would have four aces. That is just the way it always went. When he would finally win - it was usually the smallest pot of the night. John was one of the nicest people I have had the pleasure to know and he will be missed.
My fondest memories are of John at our Flotilla's pirate picnics. He made THE BEST sausage and peppers in the world. He will be truly missed.
John shall always live in in his children and grandchildren. Peace to his children.
Our deepest sympathy and prayers to the family and friends of John Molnar. Love, Helen and Dominick Magliaro

To John's Family and Friends: I offer my prayers and condolences to all of you. I had the distinct pleasure of working with your father during his tenure in Asbury Park. He spoke fondly and highly of you all. His tenacity for his profession was above reproach. His infectious laugh and humor will be cherished by me forever. He was extremely proud of all of you, may God bless you and yours during this difficult time Bob Corby
You have lost a piece of your childhoods, your hearts. We will be thinking of all of you during your challenging days ahead.
Our deepest sympathy on the loss of your Father. Take hold of a lifetime of family memories, he gave, you keep them close to your heart. May the strength of FAITH, may the joy of HOPE, and the warmth of family love bring you peace in this time of sorrow. Our love to his children and grandchildren during this time.
You've lost your Dad. Words of sorrow cannot begin to ease the pain and sorrow in your hearts. Only time can do that, and in time, the memories that hurt and bring you sorrow now, shall comfort you and bring peace. John, Sarah and Michelle you are in our thoughts.
May his children find peace during this difficult time.
