Obituary of Louis Vitta
Louis J. Vitta, 87, of Marlboro passed away on Tuesday, November 23rd, at home. Mr. Vitta was born in New York City and had lived in Brooklyn before moving to Marlboro 19 years ago. He was a parishioner of St. Gabriel's Church, Marlboro. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during World War II as a Sergeant in Communications. Mr. Vitta was a Postal Service Employee at their Blythebourne facility in Brooklyn for 33 years. During that time, he also worked for Vitta Brothers Bakery. After retiring, he worked for Noonan, Astley & Pearce as an Administrative Head in their Telex Department.
Mr. Vitta is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jennie Mendola Vitta of Marlboro; 3 sons, Dr. Gary J. Vitta and his wife, Susan, of Denville, NJ, Louis J. Vitta and his wife, Gabriella, of Mahwah, NJ, and Ron J. Vitta and his former wife, Doreen, of Marlboro; a daughter, Barbara Ann Falvo and her husband, George, of Middletown, NJ; 7 Grandchildren, Alyson and spouse, Tara and spouse, Pamela, R.J., Stephanie, Christopher and Joseph and 2 Great Grandchildren.
Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, November 26th, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Relatives and friends may gather at 8:00 AM on Saturday, November 27th, at the funeral home for the Rite of Committal followed by his 9:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church, 100 North Main Street, Marlboro, NJ.
