Candles
We can't believe we finally get you back in our lives Charlie, as you were starting a new life for yourself and we were honored to be back in it, but sadly that would be short lived. We are deeply saddened you are gone, but happy for the brief time we had with you this year. Every time you came to visit you'd rave over Carol's cooking and had many laughs going down memory lane.
Knowing each other for over 40 years is a long time. You are the brother I never had. Growing up with you in Colonia was a fun time in my life because you were in it. You were the only one who could make me laugh... As kids, we were together so much everyone called us Frick & Frack. Where their was Charlie, their was Frank and vice versa.
I remember a time when we were about 18, 19 and you were driving us home from a bar one night. The car went off the road into a clay ditch. We rolled down the windows so we could climb out because the doors wouldn't open and all the clay started to come into the car. We walked away without a scratch but we were covered in clay that started to harden. Our clothes and skin were stained from the clay for a week. We were taken to the hospital by ambulance. You were afraid you'd be in deep trouble so you pretended to be passed out so the medical staff couldn't ask you what happened. Every time someone came near us, you'd close your eyes. Lol... Just one of hundreds of funny stories...
God needed an angel so he chose you, to watch over your 2 beautiful daughters and family. Rest in Peace my brother. You will always be in our hearts.

The Broken Chain
We little knew that day,
God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death, we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you.
You did not go alone.
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.
You left us beautiful memories,
Your love is still our guide.
And although we cannot see you,
You are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken,
And nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.
Rest in peace, Charlie. You are loved and missed by many.
Dad, you were the most incredible person brought to this earth. Your laughter and funny personality lit up everyone's lives and will be remembered forever. The fun times we all shared will never be forgotten. Words can not describe what a wonderful father you were to us. We are so fortunate that the last days you spent in your favorite place (New Jersey) were shared with us. We can't wait until we get to heaven and we will finally get to be with you forever. We will always keep trying are hardest to make you proud. We know you will be looking down on us everyday and be with us in spirit wherever we go. You were truly our hero and we could talk to you about anything. The last days we spent when we visited you were truly remarkable and I will never forget those times we shared going to the mall and when we went to Chi Chis and you made us laugh the whole time in the restaurant. We are glad that we were with you when you passed and we got to hold you in our arms until the ambulance came. We will always carry your beautiful soul in our hearts and not a day will go by that we will not think of you. Rest in Heaven and we know you will be waiting for all of us when we come. We can't wait to see you and give you a big hug and kiss. Daddy, we love you so much and we will talk to you everyday. You were truly the greatest father anyone could have. We were so fortunate that you were our father. Shannon and I know you loved your apartment and how much you loved New Jersey. We felt that when we were at your apartment we were the happiest and everything was okay. We loved talking with you and always remember the funny jokes you would tell. We know you did practically anything for us. We can't believe you're gone but you will always have a huge part in our hearts and that is something we will keep forever with us. So I guess this is good bye for now, but we can't wait to see you in heaven. You won't be gone forever as I know you will be watching us from heaven. I hope you are so happy in heaven and that you have everything you want up there. God is so happy and proud you are there. Remember how you shoveled people's cars and you told us after how proud God would be that you helped them? We are so proud of you and know how you always helped people in need. You would go above and beyond to help people in need and that is what we will do to follow in your footsteps. So Daddy We love you so so so so so so much and will talk and think about the times we shared everyday. Rest in Peace. You are in Gods Kingdom now filled with happiness, love, and laughter. You will have no stress anymore, have to worry about anything and wont have to take any medication in this perfect place. We love you Daddy! Can't wait to see you and spend time with you forever and always. xoxoxoxoxoxoxooxoxoxoxoxoxoxxxxxxxxxxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxooxoxoxoxoxoooooooooxxoxoxoxoxoxooxoxoxoxox
I am so sorry to all of the Doherty family. Charlie was a wonderful person and a great friend. I will miss him tremendously and I will never forget him. May he rest in peace. Please accept condolences from the entire Torok family.
To May, Maureen, Billy and Eduardo: Last November we saw him a couple of times and we were impressed by the hapiness and the kindness that came out of him.
While Uncle Charlie was here he made us laugh and smile and who would have thought those days were few. The one thing that no one can ever take or change is the memories that were made over the past 55 years. For those memories we must go on knowing that the gates have opened and great people are there to greet Uncle Charlie as he makes his way there. In our memories forever.
