Obituary of William Mayer
William "Bill" J. Mayer, 70, passed away on Friday, January 28, 2011 at home. Bill was born and raised in the Bronx before moving to Freehold Township in 1972 and then settling in Bradley Beach in 1997. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. Bill worked for the Ford Motor Company, Edison for over 30 years until his retirement. He was the President of the Battle of Monmouth Soccer Club.
Bill is survived by his four children; William Mayer and his wife Jacqueline of Sayreville; Christine Ujobagy and her husband, Jason of Macungie, PA; Patrick and Erica Mayer of Middletown; and Michael Mayer and his wife, Virginia of West Orange; seven grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Tambone of Spring Valley, NY; many nieces and nephews and his former wife, Victoria Mayer of Freehold Township.
Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, January 31, 2011 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Rite of Committal at the funeral home on Tuesday, February, 1, 2011 at 9:00 AM followed by his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 16 McLean Street, Freehold. Interment will follow in Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent.
